Your whole child is our whole purpose. We are excited to engage them in reaching their full potential!

We are always excited to talk to families about Montessori School of Ruston. Our staff is happy to answer questions about our school and Montessori philosophy. This is, after all, an extremely important decision, and we respect you for asking all the questions needed in order make your decision. Below is all the information you should need to walk through our application process.

1. Visit our campus. A Montessori environment is a unique educational experience that can be best appreciated by seeing it in action. Join us at an open house to explore our campus, meet our staff, and visit with some of our current parents. If you are unable to attend the open house or want to see the classroom with students engaged, we invite you to schedule a tour.

Toddler Tours (children age 12 months and walking by September 30)
Primary Tours (children age 3, 4, or 5 by September 30)

To schedule a tour, please complete our inquiry form and a member of the Admissions Team will follow up with you. You may also call us at 318.251.1590! We look forward to hearing from you!

Open Houses:

Stay tuned: dates to be announced soon!

We are currently accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year!

2. Complete an application. The re-enrollment deadline for currently enrolled students and registration for siblings for the 2020-21 school year is Friday March 13, 2020. We will begin reviewing applications and making our first round of enrollment decisions between March 16, 2020 and April 1, 2020. We will notify families of admission between April 1, 2020 and April 15, 2020. Applications are accepted and students are enrolled if space is available on a rolling basis between April 15, 2020 and August 1, 2020. If you are seriously considering MSR for your child we encourage you to complete an application as soon as possible as space is limited. Please call 318.251.1590 for further information.

Request Student Records and Transcripts. Paperwork must be received for applications to be complete. If your child is currently attending another school, please request that his or her transcripts and a teacher recommendation be sent from your child's current school to MSR. Applicants to our Kindergarten through Middle School are required to have this information into MSR in order for the application to be complete.

If you are applying for Kindergarten through grade five, please submit the Confidential Teacher Recommendation Form and the Transcript Release Form to your child's current school.

If you are applying for grades six through eight, confidential recommendation forms must be submitted by the student's current English and Math instructors, an additional teacher, and by an advisor or principal. A Transcript Release Form is also required.

3. Student Visit. Once your application is complete, a member of the admission team will be in touch to schedule a student visit for all students age three and over. Toddler applicants are not required to visit. Student visits vary in length according to the program to which your child is applying.

4. Parent Meeting. Once your application is complete, a member of the admissions team will contact you to schedule a parent meeting. Primary through Middle School parent meetings are scheduled after your child's visit. MSR deeply values the partnership between parents and our school in supporting each child in their development.  Out of respect for the parent-school relationship we seek to get to know you as well as your child during the admissions process. For this reason our head of school and one other staff member sits down with all parents in an effort to learn more about you as well as answer any remaining  questions regarding our educational philosophy, programs, logistics, our long term plans, or any other questions you may have about your child's application to MSR.

Notification. We will send notification of acceptance to our program on Thursday, April 16, 2020. After the first round of notifications, we will continue rolling admission until all spaces are filled. We make every effort to work with families to complete the admissions process as quickly as possible.
